The Nashville trade is really good for the Jets and the Detroit trade is really bad for the Jets.

That Ekholm trade is a joke. Same for Glendening. Ekholm will get a 1st a top prospect and a 3rd asset. Is Niku a top prospect? Lol.... Glendening is worth at least a 3rd...

If that's what it took to acquire Ekholm, I would make that trade instantly! Unfortunately for Jets fans...I think it'll take more than that. For the Glendening trade...I wouldn't mind targeting him as he would be an excellent 4C fit but I would rather hold onto Gustafsson and keep Thompson there.

Not bad overall!

I'll be interested in seeing what Ekholm goes for in the end. He is a great player but the timing of his contract is actually a negative value. Anyone who gives up this kind of package will need to protect him from expansion with him being one year away from UFA. Might euchre a team long term on D.

Thankfully the jets would just have to protect Pionk, Morrissey, and Ekholm.

Cant see it, Ekholm is getting more then suggested here but there isn't a top prospect going back

the asking price is always sky high and the team bidding closest to that price wins

and whoever wins, loses more then what they give NSH cause of expansion issues deterring alot of teams from going to far

Nashville doesn’t have to trade him now and can keep him past expansion in order to maximize return if needed. We don’t have more than 4 forwards that really need to be protected

tbh wouldn't be surprised one bit if that happened, very good chance contenders give more then, one less year but not exposing a good player to Seattle

That's what that have been reported. You can be sure that Poile won't move him if the returns doesn't fit his needs cuz NSH are in the run for a playoff spot so yeah...

That’s the way I see it too. Back in the playoff picture. We may still trade haula or Granlund but I think Ekholm is off the table unless there is serious overpayment

You can bet Poile will not let him go cheap and he shouldn't. Playoffs and expansion draft are factors. Heard today that Winnipeg is looking at a first, Heinola and to make the money work Perreault. If they balk at the first than Nashville would want Perfetti. Not as easy now is it.

I agree. I think it's too rich for the jets. No way they should give up Heinola or Perfetti IMO.

Tough decision. Don't want to give up young players who might play 8-12 years with you but with your goaltender and forward group the time is now. Would Ekholm get you into the final four where you have a real chance for the Cup. If they can sign Copp and Lowry then your window stays open into the future and Heinola and Perfetti would play a big part. Saw today that maybe they are looking at Goligoski, a cheaper option.

I think there are a lot of cheaper options out there on expiring deals. Ekholm is the trade deadline darling, but the cost is high and Nashville is playing well. The jets D right now has been playing pretty good too
