How so? Both have 7 points this season and have for the most part been pretty bad.

This is the perfect exemple of why you don't use 20-30 game sample size. Would you trade Carter Hart for Ville Husso? They have the same numbers but one is a career AHLer while the other one is likely to be one of the best G in the future. Sure, the gap isn't as big between Bennett and DeBrusk but the former has been a bottom-6 checking forward for the past years while DeBrusk has been a middle-six two-way winger (and he hasn't reached his ceiling unlike Bennett). He hasn't had a good season so far but he'll bounce back. Show me the '18-21 seasons of DeBrusk and Bennett; the choice is pretty easy.

I, too, like to use points total when one guy has played 33 games and the other 21!

I don't entirely disagree with you but I think it's hard to say one has reached their ceiling while the other is still developing when they are 1 draft year apart and only because DeBrusk was born a few days after the 2014 cutoff.

Also here is 18-21:

It's Bennett 6th season, it's DeBrusk 4th season. Bennett has regressed the past years from a capable 2nd liner to a 4th liner.

Hes not a 4th liner though, he's a decent 3rd line C/LW

No matter how you cut it the difference between the two is not enough that you you can get Hanifin for a 2nd and Zboril!

Hanifin for DeBrusk+50% of the 2nd
Bennett for Zboril+50% of the 2nd

It's fair.

I presume Karson is included to balance the roster.
I think there may be better offers for Hall, but that is close to fair IMO.
