As dead even as it gets. Bottom six energy forward has a place on the Sens.... Bottom pair defender has a place on the Kings. Swap of equivalent surpluses to address both teams needs while exposing each of these guys to better future opportunity.

Sad to see Wolanin go, but Ottawa desperately needs skill in Belleville. Amadio is a great AHL level talent, and even if he never makes it as a full time NHLer, it's a worthwhile pickup for Ottawa.

From an LA perspective, if you can deal with the defensive woes, Wolanin can definitely be a good bottom pair D. Skates really well and moves the puck up ice. Passes the puck with confidence.

This isn't really a trade because both teams could have claimed either other's "trade piece" off of waivers.

Zero value in, zero value out.

I voted fair deal.

Nice exchange for both teams. But note that this trade means that right now, Ottawa doesn't have a fourth qualifying defenseman for the expansion draft.

It's likely they'll just expose Zaitsev and protect one of the pending UFAs, even if they don't intend to re-sign them. Seems like Z's contract is enough of a deterrent for Seattle to pass.

Alternatively, they could give Coburn a 1 year extension.

Ottawa trading away a former North Dakota player? Shocking.

Seattle won't take Z, but his contract doesn't look nearly as bad as it did a year ago. Or while he was in TOR.
