Description
I think Ekholm is the best fit for FLA and they should get him. But if they really want an RHD, this could be worth exploring. I would even consider taking back Stralman as cap equalization if need be. I’m not tied to any particular return other than a 1st and an additional prospect(s)

I don't think they will trade any of those players. Plus Minnesota is looking for a top center

The ask from wild gm has always been top 6c, or top c prospect with 1st round pick

I think the top C pipe dream is over. Pick and prospect return is gonna be the fit. Problem here is that it handicaps the Wild this year for cap flexibility the next 2 years. I think that fits what BG is trying to do but I could be wrong.

Goalies are their problem no. 1 long-term, so I think they won't deal these prospects until they figure out which one can replace Bob in due time.

As a playoff team, I can't see them moving players from their active roster. This rules Tippett and Luostarinen out.

That leaves Denisenko+Strålman+1st. Which imo is too much, MIN would have to add a bit.

Not if you take back Stralman IMO since that’s 5.5 of dead cap, and there’s a real chance Knight goes UFA with Bob on contract. But I think your thoughts on Luo and Tippet are spot on.

My only response is what you give up for Ekholm? I gotta think he’s target #1.

All of these trades are pretty ass for florida, too much value from our side
There really is no reason to trade for a dman on a long contract like dumba, since ekky will probably return next season
Anyway we would have to leave either him or weegar unprotected, so nty

Very unlikely that Knight wouldn't sign with FLA at all. Not a thing they should prepare for right now anyway.

Strålman's still somewhat useful for FLA, despite being overpaid. Especially now with Ekblad out, they need an experienced force on the D end.

As of right now, I don't think Preds is moving Ekholm. They're catching up to become that 4th team going to playoffs from that said division.

The expansion question is completely fair. I think the best d men on the market all have term though and I would do everything you could to push this year. My first thought was Ekholm but he’s gonna cost a similar amount.

It is all a mess anyway you look at it. Top RHD goes down, Wild have an expendable top pair RHD. Not a replacement but could make up a good bit of the difference.

FWIW, I think the stars take that last spot.

Mekblad id much better and different than Dumba. Think they should go for a more defensive dman

I hope so, but I'm not too optimistic. Stars play is far too erratic.

Honestly, I’d say they’re just exhausted. But I here what you’re saying. I also think NSH is fools gold right now.

They've played pretty well as of late. But I don't see that lasting.

Frankly, that division is weird. There's like two top contenders to beat the whole league, a surprise team who's becoming absolutely crippled, 3 incredible disappointments (DAL, CBJ, NSH), a total overachiever in Chicago, added with the Detroit Dead Wings.

Yeah, X to doubt that knight randomly decides to go to UFA
Bob could be a perfect mentor for him, having experience being very good
And we all know that at some point during this contract, bob will become essentially a 10 million dollar backup, so there is no reason knight shouldn't get significant starts a few years down the road
