The Palat trade is really intriguing but I'm wondering if Vanek doesn't stay in Detroit, the relationship there seems pretty mutually beneficial.

I'd also be wary of the Fleury trade. He hasn't had the greatest year but hey, if it means you get him cheap it's still a definite upgrade over the current tandem Carolina has.

Doubt this deal gets you Palat, And Vanek wants to stay in Detroit and possibly finish his career there so i doubt he plays any time soon in Carolina.

Doubt if the Canes would give up assets just to acquire Fleury. Maybe Lack for Fleury only. What choice to the Pens have especially with NMC Fleury.
