I genuinely feel bad for you. Sometimes the Leafs disappoint me, but the Sabres are just on another level of disappointing. I don't even know what to say to make you feel better for your team its just a mess.

Honestly the last decade has just been so hard. I've grown up with them and at 25 the love runs deep but I find it hard to engage. Like even somewhere like this site where it's just a constant bombardment of "everyone on your team is trash" from other fans no matter what kind of trades you put together you know? Like all fans outside of the truly hardcore and intelligent ones are just impossible to discuss hockey with and it ruins the engagement in the sport. I truly feel for the Cubs, Mets, and Browns fans of the generation before me.

Yeah I would love the truth of whether ownership is too involved without the "know how" or they just don't care beyond dollars. We can't seem to get any kind of an answer and the rumours are just hard to buy into when both ends of the spectrum are believable.

Not even joking, nhl needs to get new ownership there. That’s where the change needs to start.

What’s the scoop on Montour? I really haven’t watched much of him since he was in Anaheim. I know what the numbers say, but is he a liability? Canes always talked about for Staal before he was traded, and Hall to a much lesser extent...but never hear them connected to Montour.

I agree but the deadline is only 2 weeks away and that's a lot of phone calls for a "1-man front office". I have 7 trades here. I'll be content if they make 4, happy if they make 5 or more.

When you refuse to put intelligent hockey people in place for this long it’s ownership. Even oilers tried to at least put it good people, eventually paying for Holland

I was so excited for them and then... well, we all know how tonight went.

But look on the bright side, you’re probably gonna set a new nhl record 😂

Maybe not the best record to own, but it is still a record nonetheless.

He's not a total liability but he's not gonna win a Norris either. Totally fine as a second or third pairing right shot. Honestly he and Sami Vatanen are two peas in a pod I think. He's still the 4th best skater on the Sabres after Eichel, Cozens and Hall. With a steady defensive LHD he'll be at his best ie; when he played with Cam Fowler.

Canes looking for a solid 3-RD to play with Bean or Gardiner (if healthy)...so likely a more defensive minded guy I guess. Maybe not a fit.

Yeah I don't think Montour would do well in that role... Hamonic would be my best suggestion if he can be pried out of western canada.

I was pulling for you to do some damage to Philly to. But make sure you beat BOS. You got like 6 games against them. 3-4 wins there would be great.

You shouldn't feel bad for browns fans. That team up and moved in the middle of the night and what they dropped back into the city is not the browns. They deserve to lose after the **** the NFL pulled there.

Oh they tried, but he won’t leave Western Canada apparently. Savard is likely too expensive too.

I know you’re hurting but the Driedger/Garland contracts are rough and the Ellis trade is beyond unrealistic

Do you think I overpaid Driedger and Garland? And I was trying to use the Sportsnet valuation as approximate for Ellis. They had a top tier prospect, a cap dump and a 3rd. So I went b-prospect a 2nd and a 3rd. I know it's not a typical move for a basement team to "buy" but typical hasn't been working in Buffalo.
