If he turns out to be a player in Toronto then Pittsburgh needs to seriously consider why so many players dont fit well there. They trade all of their assets and all of their futures away for good players and then they don`t work out and then they sell them for pennies on the dollar. It isn`t just a couple now, this is a continuous trend. Galchenyuk I thought for sure was just a bum but if he lights it up in Toronto then it all but confirms something is wrong within Pens org when it comes to acquiring players and acclimating them.

The guy hasn't fit well on like 5 other teams. I don't think it's a Pittsburgh thing.

Its pretty simple.. the Pens didnt give him a real chance in the top 6. If Galchenyuk is on your fourth line, you might as well scratch him. He is an offensive minded player who can succeed in the top 6. If hes not there, hes a liability.
Also, he didnt succeed in MIN, OTT and CAR didnt even want him. He defo has to fix some stuff, but I am happy he is succeeding in TOR. I have always liked him.

Yeah 100% but he did got a (albeit short) chance in the top 6. Never worked. And then yes he got buried where he was totally misused and completely wasted. I wish I could find out what other offers were on the table for Kessel.

I think Chucky has done good. He looks comfortable with the team. Mikheyev has struggled this season, but I dont know if TOR is ready to move on. Engvall has been decent, but I could see them upgrading on him if anything. Defense has been good, but you could maybe upgrade the bottom pairing. If Andersen is out long-term, I would bring in Reimer, Bernier or Dubnyk, who are all on the market.

The main piece in that Kessel trade was POJ and I am super excited for him to be a full timer. Kessel also forced PIT's hand by only accepting a trade to ARI. We had a deal set with MIN which was Zucker and Rask for Kessel and JJ, but Kessel nixed the deal.

Yeah and it is too early to tell in Toronto BUT this has happened with a bunch of players in Pitt. Pearson, Perron, Bjugstad, Oleksiak, Brassard, Marleau, etc...

Right, I forgot about that. Man, what a game changer that would have been if that Minny deal went through. I`m actually not TOO high on POJ to be honest. He still needs to toughen up or he is going to continue to get abused out there. He had a decent stint but he got exposed at the end. I hope we can figure it out and he turns out into a impact player but I`m tempering my expectations for now.

I agree about Goaltending.....move Anderson to LTIR and bring in a goalie, an extra depth defenceman for cushion against injuries and bring in a top 6 forward.......Leafs need to go for it this year.

He might take the net back.....but I do not trust him to not let in one soft and deflating goal per each playoff game he plays..........Hope he proves me wrong but I have more confidence in Campbell.

We need a goalie. don’t need any more forwards if Chucky plays like this.
