I think OTT picks him up before DET has a chance to.

I would lean towards yes. DET could use a PP quarterback like him IMO.

I think he will. He proved this season that even at his worst he is still a pretty decent defenseman, and I think teams who are rebuilding currently would be willing to take the chance of him playing to his upside for free

Honestly doubt he’s claimed. Most teams are being told to not take on anymore money. So it’s highly unlikely, think there are a few teams who want to add, like Boston Toronto and Winnipeg just doubt they’ll be able to add 4.5m.

No. Nobody is adding that kind of payroll mid season without money going the other way.

DET has $24 mil in cap space...I think they would be ok.

I don't think it's a matter of the cap space (though he's definitely not been worth his cap hit for a while). I don't think teams will be interested in adding 6.5mil over the next two year for a guy who has been getting worse pretty much since the start of that contract. If he moves, it'll be in a trade after clearing waivers, and there will be a contract going the other way.

I initially thought no, but in looking at his contract, its a $4.5m cap hit, but it was kinda front loaded. He is paid $3.25 million in actual cash this year and the last two years of the deal. Ottawa loves those lower cash than cap hit deals and I'm sure it makes him less onerous to add for a mid market team who could use the the help.

Ghost actually has not been that bad this year. If a team uses him correctly, he can be worth his contract fairly easily IMO
