ARZ is going to decline this, even though they will save real dollars for Andersen this season. Kerfoot + 1st =/= Garland and an extra year of Kuemper.

I hate the idea of trading for a #1 goalie as they're such voodoo. I'm not convinced Kuemper will play better than Andy any month compared to another month and that's what you need for the playoffs.

All that being said kerfoot and a first gets you Garland and a little, but not Kuemper.

Over pay for Merrill his value is somewhere between a 4th and a 5th so a 4th would be plenty.

What will Garland make though next year ?
Robertson, Sandin, Spezza are all going to be on the team next year

Before it though I think he would take a 3-3.5 2 year bridge or you could try to get him for term around 4.5-5 mil?
