This trade would happen after the season. the leafs would trade away Laine's RFA rights for a first round pick/prospects/goaltending. I think Laine would be a good fit with the oilers if they have cap room. they need wingers and laine's size and skill would be a great asset on the Oilers. Jesse is an RFA after this season and i cannot see him asking for much. assuming the leafs won't be spending much on goaltending in the offseason, I think we'd be able to secure him to a deal around 2x3 (or something around that). Don't want to pay him too much because he is not a proven winger compare to Laine, who is capable of being that point-per-game player the oilers need.
