Gee, I really don't want Henrique for 3.5 years....rather just have Kerfoot. And to give up the soon to be needed Liljegren. Seems like an overpay for a middling centre.

Yeah I was thinking that. I suppose it's sunk cost. He's also a year shorter and they get Liljegren.

It could always be two separate trades.

The market hates cap right now so kerfoot would have to be given away for low return (like a 3rd or so), which is silly

Zegras has good upside but he doesn't look like an eichel/Matthews/McDavid/superstar immediately talent who should be put against other teams top lines immediately.

May as well keep Henrique to be your top c to shelter zegras and the rest a bit until they're ready

Oops. Meant to put that Zegras could be Eichel level maybe a little bit less

Could be eventually but I have my doubts. Regardless I meant in regards to how they came into the league first year post draft and put up 24 goals and 50 something points with no sheltering. He was essentially point per game in his second year at 20.

Zegras has nice upside but has 5 points in 15 games in his second year post draft.

I wasn't talking about their ceilings so much as I was talking about development curve. Eichel was able to come right in and produce. I think zegras will be better served to be able to have softer zone starts/competition and eased into top line role.
