Larkin

Description
Thoughts on a deal like this? Not sure if the price is right, but i'm guessing Detroit flips Dumba for more assets. From a Detroit standpoint, it seems like they are always selling/rebuilding so why not move Larkin?

Larkin is untouchable, not for his skill level but he is their franchise captain moving forward...

In a vacuum, I'm not sure the value difference is a first. But that's moot, because I don't think Detroit even considers this for a second.

Larkin would look really good in wild green, but to be fair he’s a centerpiece they are rebuilding around. I couldn’t picture them trading him

If Boldy is in this deal aswell then Detroit could consider it but Wild wouldn't do that so it doesn't work

Larkin is worth much more. What is Dumba gonna do for the Wings anyways. They would need major assets in the form of draft picks (likely two firsts) and a decent prospects to even consider.

Terrible take here, Detroit is always rebuilding? This is their first rebuild since 1985, it takes time to rebuild and you don't trade away the 1 guy you are rebuilding around. Your proposal is rejected and it's not even close to realistic

Exactly. Larkin is worth more than the points he produces. He's going to be the captain and leader of the Red Wings for the next 10-15 years. It would take a mountain of an overpayment to consider moving him. Like a jaw dropping overpayment. Imagine if Detroit had of traded Steve Yzerman in the late 80's for a very good but not great defenseman and a 1st Round pick.

With that said. Minnesota has nothing remotely close to anything that would be worth considering. I doubt there's a GM in the league that would even bother asking about Larkin because they know Steve would lose their number.

Dumba, Boldy and a late 1st for Larkin.

Detroit soundly rejects this offer.

Well... what if Yzerman was approached with Kaprizov and a first plus more. Maybe you'd consider it, but Larkin is the type of player that the Red Wings would likely refuse to trade away.

Not enough from MN, but it's a moot point because Larkin isn't being traded this year.

The only way DET trades Larkin would be before his NTC kicks in for the 22-23 season and they think he'll walk as a UFA after that.
