probably Philly. Havent watched philly (sanheim) a ton this season, but I probably wouldnt want to give up more than Strome, Murphy, and a 1st for Konecny and Sanheim.

my prediction

at the deadline Laine either goes to Edmonton or Philadelphia

with RNH contract talks on hold and Mcdavid still needing a capable wing why not make a trade where Laine goes to Edm and RNH (extension) goes to CBJ. And lets be real Laine-Mcdavid would be perfect as Mcdavid can make the plays and laine can snipe them in

as for philly they seem to be looking to add as waiving Ghost will give them the space to add Laine

If it’s Edmonton , Holloway has to come back or Nuge with an extension and more.

I said Nuge with extension as 100% the deal would be very 1 sided if they just made the trade without that occuring

So basically Laine (50% retained) for Edm and for CBJ (RNH 8 year 7.5 mill contract and they finally have the center they need)

I think Edmonton would have to add like another good piece. Columbus can just wait and hope RNH hits the open market

they could but with their small market and reputation I just cant see them attracting him in FA unless they overpay the **** out of him

its like when they sold Murray and Nutrivaraa for nothing to try and get one of Dadonov, Toffoli, or Hoffman and all rejected solid offers.

there best bet to get a star or player they really need is to trade.

Really nice idea. Decent framework, could definitely see something like this working if proposed. My only thing as a hawks fan is that I don’t want to trade Murphy. Sanheim plays the left side where the hawks already have 4 guys who should be in the lineup there. Sanheim would make it 5 NHL LD. Obviously trades can happen but on our right side, if we trade Murphy, we are left with Mitchell and Boqvist. They are not ready to own the right side on their own yet. I would still do the trade though, just a thought is all. If Konecny is available the hawks should 100% offer a serious package. Not that “just checking in” and kicking tires bs.

Can you imagine the Laine deal when he score 10 goals in 12 games on mcdavids wing?

I think theres a fit as lets be honest when has Mcdavid had a good wing other than Draisaitl? RNH sure but sometimes it just does not feel right, Draisaitl sure but u dont want those 2 on the same line as it hurts Edmontons offensive depth.

Having Laine would allow for Draisaitl to go back to line 2 and balancing out Edmontons offense, and laine fits as Mcdavid passing skills and laines shooting skills are just made for eachother

Just imagine for fun a 1st line of Laine-McDavid-Hyman/C. Brown

Yeah I get you. I am just imagining how much Laine can score on mcjesus' wing and the contract he could get.

Having to pay good players for playing well is a good problem to have. Lol

theres something there but JP actually looks good with Mcdavid and I think the focus should be on LW which is where Laine comes in as he can play both sides.

now if Edmonton drafted properly and made certain trades they could have had Mcdavids jr line of Debrincat-Mcdavid-Brown and that may have pushed for the best line in the NHL today

Edmonton would make the room, whether that be paying seattle to take Neal or something they would find a way. As for the price thats tricky, he could go for more term less money (so 8.5) or he could just straight out ask for 9+

Value wise it’s good for the hawks but I don’t think we can afford to lose murphy he’s been fantastic for us
