what nobody is understanding here is bruins have to give up more than this to bring a dman like ekholm in. its not simply just the return for the trade thats keeping the bruins away, its the expansion draft protections where they will be impacted as well. you dont trade a bunch for a rental, and they would have to expose him carlo or grz and that just isnt happening. bruins will target a top 6 forward at the tdl and thats all they will do unless they can get a dman on the waiver wire.

But the Ekholm deal is expansion draft nightmare. Anything you give is basically a loss. I emphasize that point.
