Hall trade makes no sense for Buffalo
We have a rookie GM, we aren’t gonna wanna take on another rental that we’d have to swap to another team
No interest in Hoffman

Hall will cost a 1st

All the insiders have said for quite a while that Hall won’t return a 1st. We’ll see soon enough

Habs trade is not at all useful for the Blues. A cap dump fringe NHLer and a mid pick for a promising top 4 D and a replacement forward? Not close.

Sabres get nothing out of Hoffman.

That could be the case, but here’s why i think they’re wrong:
There’s reportedly a bunch of teams interested in him
So let’s say they all offer a 2nd, which is completely reasonable
Now say StL really wants him & doesn’t want the AVs for example to get him- or Toronto vs Edmonton- etc etc etc
How do they bolster their 2nd round pick offer?

They gotta think a “b prospect” or maybe another 2nd or 3rd would keep them in the running.... but that wouldn’t do it for sure
So I’m thinking that at least one of these teams will offer what turns out to be a LATE 1st
Not only so that they get Hall, but also so that they KEEP HIM AWAY from a division rival getting him

Maybe I’m digging too deep there,
but it makes sense in my head anyways

And like u said- we’ll have to wait & see

Hall for Dunn and blais. Is a trade I would do. Not gonna do the proposed trade though. Not trading for another ufa.

Sanford is in the Buffalo deal and he's valued a lot higher by the Blues brass than Blais

Hall for Dunn and Blais make perfect sense for Buffalo.
A good LW prospect and young LHD.

Hall >>> Lehkonen, 2021 2nd round pick (MTL)

You have at least 2 Buffalo AGM promoting this trade, but if you want to make it Dunn and Sanford, I would not object.

But why would Buffalo trade a UFA for another UFA?

Blais and Dunn for Hall is probably fair.

Hall for Hoffman was the idea with Sanford as what makes the deal for Buffalo. I really like Blais. I’d play him over Sanford but the Blues value Sanford >> Blais.
