I'm definitely not a Leafs fan but tbh I think you're right on Raanta. He's been underqated and I think he could be an uppgrade on Andersen. That being said, I don't think Andersen is the biggest issue in the Leafs roster... They really need someone who is a legit top 6 winger. That's not the case of Hyman or Thornton...

Yeah definitely playing with Matthews and Marner? Remember Ty Rattie well that argument is bs. Zach Hyman is a good player but any contending team would like to have him on a defensive role because that's what he is. The leafs can't do that because Dubas is a bad gm at managing and balancing his team.


Did I mentionned Drouin even a single time? No. But Drouin is an offensive skilled player that's why he's considered a top 6 forward. Hyman is kore on the defensive side of the game.

He is a top six winger, maybe middle six on a very deep team like Tampa, but he'd be a top six winger on almost every team and Toronto isn't tampa. He has been pretty good offensively over the last couple of seasons. He's the perfect compliment to Matthews and Marner, he's solid defensively, is strong on the puck, wins a lot of loose puck battles and doesn't weigh them down offensively at all. While it would be nice to play a guy like Hyman on the third line I doubt it is possible with the leafs current situation, I do agree tho another top six winger would be ideal.

Hyman has been on and carrying the 3rd line for a stretch this season, and his points have not dipped. He's a big part of the 3rd line. True. He makes it a decent checking line, but to say he doesn't have the skill to play in the top 6 is just a full out ignorant comment.

Nice try with the Ty Rattie comparison. That was one pre-season pal. Hyman's points have gone up every season he's played, no matter his linemates. Maybe you could be on to something if you said this after his rookie season, but that was 5 years ago. You may want to watch a Leaf game or 2.
