I feel like I'm in the minority but I would welcome a Goligoski to WPG trade...I bet we could even have him for a 3rd but who knows!

I think we should put him on the first defensive line with Morrissey, as Morrissey needs some help defensively, whereas Forbort and Pionk have been consistent together, and Stanley with Demelo worked nicely last few games in Calgary.

I agree he definitely fills a hole on the Jets defence. The only downside is that I believe he is overpaid, however, the Jets have the cap space so why not.

Would Montour not be a better fit then Goligoski, he's a RHD which is more of a need and Forbort/Pionk should stay together as they've been the Jets best D pair.

Montour isn't good defensively.

The Jets don't really need a small, offense only LD, but you never know. Maybe if AZ retains more and drip the pick to a 3rd or 4th. This year.

I think of all the things you could say about Goligoski, "good defensively" would not be one of them.

Good thought, nice trade.

Note that his compensation this season is "only" $4 million despite that cap hit. So with more than half the year over, he's owed less than $2 million.

Goligoski isn't good but he's much better than Montour defensively especially in front of the net.

There was a good article in the Athletic where Murat Ates put forward the case for Goligoski as a low cost (suggests Niku and a pick), low risk trade, which also doesn't add any expansion draft concerns. He also noted that a Jets scout took in a Coyotes games last week.
Looking for the Jets’ perfect dark horse trade candidate: Could Alex Goligoski be a match?

While the graph projects out several years, he is a pending UFA so none of the dotted lines matter if viewed as a rental.

Yeah under different circumstances Goligoski might be an alright add but he doesn't seem like the kind of dman the Jets need.
