I honestly thought this was good value. You're getting a young replacement for Foligno and a 3rd round pick. I thought a swap of Aho and Carlsson made some sense too. Carlsson was waived earlier this year we could use more guys like him. Aho has looked decent in his few NHL games this year and could get more of an opportunity with CBJ. If you'd rather give us MDZ than Carlsson I'm on board.

What would be better value for Foligno?

I'm fine with the pick and one of those prospects for Foligno. Not sure we can give up Carlsson with Savard heading out the door. He could easily be his replacement. I also think Aho and Bellows don't have much value. Definitely not a good player swap IMO.

Would you do just Bellows and a 3rd for Foligno (with some retained)? We can add a little but probably not one of our better prospects (Salo, Bolduc, Wilde, Dufour). Or we can upgrade the pick to a 2nd and do Bellows and a 2nd for Foligno (retained).
