if im reading this right and the sens basically give up 2 6ths and a 7th to get Kerfoot i don't see how they can decline

I understand what you're saying but Kerfoot is massively overpaid and will never get back to scoring like he did with the AVS. I'd be shocked if they couldn't address a bigger need with that money during these frozen cap years. Annnnnd I really don't like Kerfoot's game.

I don't think he'd be that easy to flip. Bottom 6 UFAs will be signing much cheaper than Kerfoot. And I'm sure Toronto has been trying to move him for some time. And the deal makes no sense for Ottawa, we could sign Reilly for cheaper than Kerfoot and Reilly (like it or not) ACTUALLY fills a hole that Ottawa needs filling; Kerfoot just takes a space away from a better player in my opinion. Why would we give up picks for that?? Even with Tierney and Dzingel gone (a possibility at trade deadline) Ottawa's forwards next year could be something like:
Stützle - Norris - Batherson
Tkachuk - White - Dadonov
Formenton - Pinto - C Brown
Paul - Bishop - Watson
Abramov - L Brown - Sokolov
Greig - Kastelic - P Kelly
And that's without grabbing any UFAS or a potential top 4 pick in 2021, if they go with a forward.
