No ekholm no problem

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If the price doesn’t come down or the press stay in a playoff spot, this is what I would do:

Step 1) get Morrissey a partner. Why not look at dubios’ good friend David savard. Both might sign because of each other and savard is the perfect partner for Morrissey. He can handle the front of the net and move the puck. The rest is up to Morrissey to pick up his game. I added poolman in case the jackets suddenly turn it around after the tdl and need a d-man

Step 2) Add, cause why not. chevy loves to make underrated and unexpected moves. He got stastny back while ago, demelo last year, etc. With lindholm injured but coming back around the tdl, could he be in play? It would take a lot from the jets perspective but if a deal can get done, it would put them over the top. Heinola and perfetti are off the table, and there is no way any team is getting them for 1-2 years of someone anyway. That leaves guys like Samberg, Stanley, niku, gawanke, etc. I kept Samberg because he hasn’t shown much at the pro level and I want to see more before we give up on him. That leaves Stanley, gawanke, or Niku. Considering the ducks need rd, I sent gawanke. He should be ready within a year of 2.

In the offseason, the jets send niku to ensure Seattle takes demelo.

Both him and forbort look short term. Like day to day. Maybe week to week. I don’t expect any to be long term

The alleged asking price for Savard is a late 1st and an offensive center prospect. That’s not what you have listed here.

Slightly crazy, price will come down as the TDL rolls around. CBJ is in the race so I understand why it’s so high. Honestly I think the underrated pickups for Winnipeg would be Hamonic and Oleksiak. I know hamonic has been saying he won’t waive, but he might for wpg. Dallas is in a bit of a tough spot because while they could hold onto everyone, they could easily fall out of the race and miss out on trades at the deadline.

I don’t mind the Lindholm deal, just not sure that’s what’s coming from Chevy.

O didn’t know that was the asking price and I don’t think any team is going to give that up for savard. Like savard is good, but he’s not worth a first+ good imo.

Anyways, as @tsyls said, teams always ask for more before the tdl than near it

I'd add a "presence of The Traitor" surcharge to that for Winnipeg, but I'm petty and biter.

The GM of the Blue jackets... I’m not saying I agree with it, but according to the athletic jarmo is asking for that from Savard.

MP on the Penguins. He is available for a hockey trade. What would you offer.

Depends. Not a whole lot since he isn’t really a fit long term. That said, probably niku and a 2nd.

He’s totally worth more than that imo, but that’s all I think the jets will give for him

It sounds more like Portzline making an educated guess, than a quote from Kekalainen.

"Smith: What do you think the Blue Jackets would be looking for in terms of compensation for a pending UFA like Savard?
...
Portzline: If they get a first-round pick for Savard, I think they’d be delighted. Kekalainen is probably going to be wise and wait until just before the deadline, trying to get multiple teams involved in the bidding. So maybe a late-round first and a prospect. That seems very reasonable to me."
