Trade them Jankowski and a 5th, they retain half on Gusev and there you go.

Ahh okay youre only carrying one extra player. I think you just dont claim Ennis and keep Riikola, because you cannot guarantee anyone taking him.
I also dont think you waive Lafferty, because he is currently our 2nd forward who meets requirements for the expansion draft, so its a little risk.
I also wouldnt want to waive Friedman, since PHI just takes him back and can send him down.

I was a big Gusev guy back when he was available from the start. Never hit the ceiling I think he is capable of. I wonder if the he goes unclaimed the Devils will allow us to trade Sceviour or Riikola and retain for him.

Only issue is it really isn`t what Burke and Hextall are publicly stating what they are looking for. Would also hate to break up Malkin and Kapanen as they seemed to have some really great chemistry.

if they are sending a guy at 4.5 mil down on waivers. They should probably retain for him and we send them a small cap dump. That way they save money on their ending season.

Yeah I don`t think a team takes on the entire salary right now without doing that

Why not just have Gusev either on the third line or playing on the left with Malkin and Kapanen? McCann looked alright on the left with them so moving Gusev down would make some sense too I guess. But yeah, Malkin and Kapanen seem to have chemistry both on and off the ice.
