Bruh why are we trading away our goalie with the best sv% while we are in the playoff race? Has there been some sort of leak that Driedger is on the market?

Sharks decline. Not really a necessary or good trade for them.

Nope, I'd rather keep my Mario and Hertl. We have enough offensive dmen thank you very much

Not a bad trade value-wise but it doesn't make sense for SJ

That offer for Ekholm would have been rejected back when he was being shopped around - it seems less likely he's available now.

Ya someone reported he could be traded at the deadline because Florida doesn’t plan to resign him. He was verified but I don’t know how reliable he is. Would take more to get him IMO but there are rumours he’s available.

Yeah I think it has been suggested that since they have next year's plan with Knight, being locked up with Bob, and Driedger being UFA, they might as well get an asset if they are definitely losing him. The issue there to me is that if he starts and helps the team go on a run, who really cares about a second round pick and/or a prospect? Hell, Florida probably goes full capacity for playoffs.

I agree the trade doesn't make sense for the sharks, but you gotta admit the value is not bad though.

I can see how the value is fair and could agree with that opinion, but I personally don’t think the value is near enough to make it worth it. Ferraro isn’t really miles away rn from Rielly but Rielly has shown he can be a norris candidate. He just hasn’t hit that form more than once, technically regressing from his 1 amazing season. Ferraro is younger and fits our structure better, and keeps growing.

I agree San Jose would be better off not making this deal as it doesn't make sense for them. I was just pointing out the value was decent and I thought it was creative compared to most Toronto ACGM'S on here.

I do like the idea of Hertl in TOR as I’ve fielded the idea before. Tho the Sharks aren’t going to be trading Hertl with the current route we’re on. But I do think the Sharks could get immense value out of Hertl by giving the leafs a LETHAL structure with Hertl joining the team at 50% retention for 2 years (2 playoff runs). It would be insanely good for the leafs.

I like Hertl on the leafs and we would need retention like you mentioned. I would have to imagine Hertl with 50% retention like you said would cost the leafs Robertson and a couple of 1st's, or Robertson, Amirov and a 1st/2nd maybe San Jose kicks in a late pick or a depth player and Toronto would likely need to add Kerfoot for financial purposes.

No the value is bad. The trade is quite far from being fair for the Sharks. Throw in Amirov and Niemela and we might be closer to considering it.

Nah, the Sharks still shouldn't take it. The Sharks are my second favorite team so I wouldn't want too see them get ripped off. My point was compared to most Toronto ACGM'S the value going the other way was decent but this trade doesn't make sense for San Jose. I never said they should take it quite the opposite actually and I discussed it with @yikes already. Bottom line this trade doesn't improve the Sharks but at least the OP tried to give up good value and deviated from the norm.
