I would love to see how the Rangers will pay Laf, Miller, Lindgren, and Chytil with around 8.5M in cap space.

That’d be of our concern not yours. Plus it’s a damn good problem to have.

I think the entire league is curious, not just him, no need to be snippy and defensive

I’d probably protect Blackwell and let them take howden+ if needed. We also got Barron playing well in Hartford, play him at 3C instead of that 4.5m contract. More cap flexibility then.

For what reason is the league curious. Most of the league has their own issues they’re tryna work through. I don’t see any reason for us to make rash decisions just for the sake of it. And stop pretending like the other teams care what happens with the Rangers and whether or not we are successful. That’s why I said it’s our problem to deal with.

Woah easy there. I think fans around the league are curious because they have a lot of young talent and a couple guys that will need to be paid. The cap is still flat for a couple years so we'll see how they make it all work. I never said other fans care about the success of the rangers, but you're kidding yourself if other teams and fan bases don't have individual interest in players on the team.

With the way people seem to bash the players on our team, it begs the question why are they interested in guys that according to most are busts and of no value. Take Strome for example, dude has been a solid 2nd line center since he’s been here and only gotten better, yet people think he’s not worth a 2nd. It’s laughable. Plus if all our guys aren’t worth much in the eyes of other teams, we shouldn’t have much issue resigning due to their perceived lack of value.

Kreider or/and Trouba out, if has to be could be a buy out or if we could somehow get a trade you take that, anyways, unlikely that the lineup looks like this, one of Buch, Kakko, or Kravtsov is out, and here we are over paying for Gauthier and Hajek, we have a lot of LD prospects so signing Hajek to that deal doesnt make a ton of sense and same with Gauthier. I also dont think Zib will be our #1 C in 3 years and unless he has a great season next year he hasnt earned a 7.5 million dollar contract. You also sign smaller bridge contracts kinda like tampa did and hope that in 3 years the cap starts going up again

Thank you for the explanation. I agree with you for the most part except the Zib part. If he doesn't stay, there would be a huge hole at center. And the Rangers don't really have anyone in the system that could be a #1.

yeah the reason I said that is because I think they should (and will try to) trade players who are surplus for a #1 C (Eichel being a prime option), it wouldn't be easy but with how inconsistent Zib has been I dont know if it is safe to count on him as a #1 C

zib has to stay barring an insane drop off or injury, the biggest barrier between nyr and the cup in 14/15 was a true 1C (and the zucc injury if you ask me). The hajek deal can be 1 year, its just a stop gap in case one of the kids isnt ready on the left side. Eventually one of trouba or kreider is gonna be out but not by this offseason

That could work. That would also clear out the problem you mentioned earlier about one of the RW needing to be moved. Im not sure if it would work with the cap space and it would leave a gap for second-line center (unless you're confident that Chytil could be the 2C)
