Couple trades that are pretty far out in value. Also CBJ will change coaches before they move Laine feels like Torts has kind of lost his magic in Columbus recently

Getting the unneeded 3.4m Byron costs the Leafs a top 6 Dman Dermot, the getting better Engvall, and mid level two prospects. Engvall is great value at 1.2m certainly not a dump. Gee, what a bad tradeoff for the overpriced Byron for the next 2.5 years.
Leafs keep Nylander over Bqcklund. And Leafs really can't afford Laine next season

What is this lololol. Colombus never accepts, Montreal thanks you for taking a pretty bad contract off their hands, and Calgary is parading in the streets after this deal. I'm not even sure our team got a whole lot better.

Every single trade is a horrible idea.

I really don't understand what's going on with that Byron trade.

He was waivers a month ago.

Laine retained 25%. Byron is a good player as a depth piece. Engvall is not needed I needed cap space so I dumped him out. Dermott isn't good at all he can go away.

Columbus could accept Laine hasn't gelled well there they could. Byron is a good depth piece and Calgary well Nylander I like him but hes soft. I wouldn't mind getting 2 picks and a solid center

If we can get 2 picks for him and a solid center, I would do it. Plus Laine is his replacement.

No team in the league, let alone the Leafs should be paying 4th liners $3.4M. How does Hyman get re-signed next year? How do they afford a decent goalie? That would be an incredibly dumb misuse of capspace.

On top of that, why in the world would it cost that much to acquire him???? They literally could not give him away for free a month ago? Every single piece in that trade from Toronto is worth more than Byron on it's own.

Leafs are pretty well the last team in the league that needs to go out and acquire an offensive only winger that requires a huge raise next year.

Again, not a single trade here makes any sense.

Engvall is as good as Byron and Engvall cap is one third of Byrons.

That might justify the idea of Laine being traded. That goes nowhere near justifying this excuse for a package - it might pass muster for a Foligno rental, but it's not even in the same universe as a Laine trade. It'd be like us trying to suggest a Voronkov/Nash/2nd package for Auston Matthews ("Toronto has another #1C already and we all know Matthews isn't staying there long term so they just might trade him").
