Yes We had injuries, but the bet of counting on the young guys didn’t work, they were looking ok at the start of the season but the last game we see that we don’t have a good enough d to compete, I rather the bruins to sell than trade for a d man at the deadling

Yea unfortunately as a bruins fan I feel the same way, team just doesn’t have it. We are missing a lot of pieces to win a championship and just don’t have the assets to acquire what we need. Bergeron and Marchand will stay on as long as they don’t ask for a trade and other than pasta, Marchand and Carlo anyone should be up for discussions.

Flames have no need for Krejci. I would rather have Ryan who expires after this year at 3.1 mill than Krejci at 6. And I don't see Brad trading any picks

Ghost could be an interesting replacement for the offense at LHD that the Bruins lost last offseason. Clearing a little space to take him on could make a difference for a team that's still pretty good. But above you've also cleared space, for, like, Hall.

we havent been close to dominant but jeez were still in a playoff spot in the bets division in the league. Nobody thought this was going to be a cakewalk of a season, still a lot of time to get a piece or two and become real contenders again

Let's pump the breaks and stop listening to felger and Mazz.

Yes, they need a shake up. The Defense is fine. They had a couple bad games - In Lauzon's case he was off for the last month, so let's give him more than 36m of ice time to get back to game speed. Also, FWIW- the Pens are reeling right now.

Carlo is not 100% yet either.

Zboril has struggled, but you are looking at him to do too much right now. He is solid overall. I actually think this little stretch is really good for him in particular. The knock on him has been his head and he is easily rattled. Plays not to lose a job rather than keep one. He actually can't lose it right now and despite all their injuries, they are still in the playoffs and still a top 5 defensive team.

The problem with this team lies on the offense.

You are expecting a young defense to be perfect for an entire season, it's not going to happen especially with the weirdness of a covid season. Too many games in a short period of time. The other part is - every other team in their division has played Buffalo at least three times. The Bruins only once, so their d numbers/GA numbers probably won't be inflating too much.

They need to move any or all of these players: Debrusk, Coyle, Smith, Kuraly. I'd throw Kase in there, but his promise is worth more than what he would return right now. Sure, if he's an add on.

They are fine. They needs some tweaks but every team does. They need goals.

Honestly it feels like 2011 - They are going to deal Bjork or Debrusk and they will go on to become a different version of Blake wheeler. The obvious talent we gave up on too soon. It worked though.

I am much happier with the Bruins hitting their wall now than in another 5 weeks.

A move is needed, but I don't think it's a bad as people are making it out to be.

Sid is really good. Like, really scary good. Like, he actually makes everyone around him better. I don't think I ever really noticed that before last night, just how much space he creates and how much vision he has.

I think the issue is that unlike in years past this team is more than just a tweak away from a cup. If you want to tell me that they can go all out and get Ekholm and Hall/Garland then that’s fine. Those moves significantly move the needle. However, if the plan is some version of a Drew Stafford and JM Liles then I would rather they just stay put than give up assets for the same type of players they already have.
As for their current ceiling, this looks more than a “rough patch.” All of the concerns that were there before the season started; 5v5 scoring past the 1st line, young D that would be on a learning curve and need to be sheltered are still at the forefront. There’s too much reliance on the health of bottom of the roster guys (Miller, Kase, etc) for them to be a serious contender. Go big or stand down.

But that’s just me
