This is so weird from a Florida POV. Morrison is obviously just a contract dump, although I don’t see why they thought they needed to make this trade. The only reason I can see is money, although if they just wanted his contract off the books, why not try waivers first? And even if he clears waivers this trade is even better for the Hawks while costing the Panthers nothing. Actually, now that I think about it, the only plausible explanation is that Hinostroza probably wanted to be traded to Chicago, and there was mutual interest, so Zito just did a favour to one of his players.

Nice addition of depth for Chicago, and Stan Bowman trades back for another player he previously traded away.

Basically vinnie for Maata. Makes that trade a little better. Hinostroza was pretty good in CHI.

Hinostroza didn't make the lineup even when we have 3 forward injuries.
Probably some sort of dump for a bigger move, makes sense for both sides

Chicago gets a player that can play in the NHL.

Florida gets a player that can not play in the NHL.

I voted for Chicago.

This looks like flordia just getting cap space for a deadline deal to get a well needed defenceman, they get morrison in return as a pretty good ahl player that could played for flordia. I give chicago win but its nothing like a insane win.

Hino was unwanted, and Bowman gets a player once on the Hawks (surprise surprise). Who knows if Morrison ever plays an NHL game.

Morrison is a legend! Traded twice for NHLers while he himself might never see a game in the big leagues

i don't see why everyone thinks the hawks won. Morrison has steadily improved each year and is younger (currently almost a point per game player in the AHL this year with obviously a minimal sample size.) Hinostroza has been on a steady decline for 2 years now and wasn't cracking the panthers linuep with 3 guys on the IR. I say slight win to the panthers honestly
