I might imagine Hall doesnt get an 8 x 8 and instead looks for another 1 year to try and re-boost his value

He’s probably better off taking 7 mill x 6 at this point.

      Risky contract for Hall

The good/bad thing about the Islanders is that they have their core locked up

I dont even know if he can get 7 mil unless he has a major resurgence in the last few weeks here. Teams probably wouldnt commit that much term for him either. He's definitely gonna want another prove it contract

But if there is a GM who would it would be Lou, or I guess Benning

Or Bowman, with his newly acquired cap space. Oh god please take these thoughts out of my head

Not Bowman, he doesn't sign other teams UFA's to major contracts just his bottom 6 players

Well the thing is, he hasnt had the cap space to make a major splash since he signed Hossa to like 13 years. Since then he hasnt had the opportunity to go after a major UFA. But I imagine if he thinks we are close to contending again, he will unfortunately pull the trigger on some dumb 6 x 6 for the next Louie Eriksson

What a joke, give Trotz the Jack Adams but GM of the year? It's like giving it to Benning when everything that can go right goes right and he has no idea how it happened. That is Lou these days. Assembles an old no talent lineup and they still win. Lou sucks

      Trotz is awful lol.

No talent ? Pelech and pulock are the best D pairing in the league , Oliver wahlstrom has been scoring goals at an elite rate , and Barzal + eberle have been a lethal duo this season.

According to everyone in the world including fans of all the Canadian teams, the North is the weakest. I don't buy it. I do think the east is strong and well but TO would be top 4 in there as well. Funny how XG% matters all of a sudden, it didn't matter last season. Lou sucks

Hall should’ve taken 7x6 and ran this off season, hindsight 20/20. I think this year he takes a 1/4-5 with a very good team and tries to find his game

Don’t necessarily think North is weakest but they are the one division without what I would consider a top contender.
