If we're paying all of that to move Johnson there is not going to be any retention.

I'd rather Savard then Foligno.

Not at that cost.

If Savard was playing well, then maybe. But with his current level, no.

It's not all that much. A first, a good but not great prospect and a meh prospect and you get a retained Savard back....

Not saying I'd bother with the trade but there is value

TJ's contract and relative lack of production scare me enough that I wouldn't want to go for that one.

The Foligno deal is a maybe.

Problem with Johnny is TB plays him on the wing when they play him down the middle he plays much better unfortunately for him TB is loaded with centers so loaded in fact they moved the face of the franchise to wing.

Savard would be battling Bogosian for 3RD minutes, he's not needed. Foligno would add an interesting element to whatever line he plays on.

Savard can play top 4 minutes if someone goes down. I don't trust Foligno can. Plus Leafs already have enough veteran forwards. If the Leafs pick up a forward I want someone younger that can skate. You know someone like Robertson.

Totally, Savard isn't overly great though

For Foligno I believe Jarmo would want Robertson. Not saying he would get him but I believe Jarmo would ask for that.

I mean.. you start negotiations off high but 0.00 chance tor would consider. Add foudy and it would still be a hard no there

He doesn't have to be great he just has to be an upgrade over Dermott and Bogosian which he's a very huge upgrade on both of them.

Maybe in the past, not this year he isn't. He would possibly be an upgrade over Bogosian.

Personally I think he's more of a product of the system. He's a decent player but he isn't going to succeed everywhere and he's also getting older. Lasting beyond 30 in the NHL is becoming increasingly more rare. The way he plays can wear on the body.
