What would you want from the Leafs for him?

what i want is Nylander but that doesnt seem realistic considering Nylander is signed already and is having a good year... at best its a lateral move and TML would not do that. Maybe Roberts 2nd (i would love a 1st but ...)and Hyman (ufa)

Not a Vrana fan. Too inconsistent and doesn't play defense. I'd rather keep Iafallo, who is a much more consistent and well rounded player. Wasn't Vrana just a healthy scratch?

Bjornfot will be the next captain of the Kings when Kopitar retires. He's not going anywhere.

He's not going anywhere." this might be the most stupid thing ive read... i would safely assume Kings next captian would be Byfield or Turcotte. yesterday you told me you wouldnt trade Vrana for Iafallo and i came to the conclusion that you are either a kid and a clueless adult. Vrana is better in everyway than Iafallo and hes a RFA and younger.....

You very clearly don't follow the Kings. LA drafted Bjornfot higher than he was expected to go due to his leadership qualities. The kid is a natural leader, taking over teams at every level he has played, including the Swedish national team, and in professional leagues with much older players back in Europe. He took a fairly active leadership role in Ontario in the AHL at age 18. Blake specifically said that culture, entitlement, and leadership were issues with this team after guys like Mitchell and Williams left, and Bjornfot was selected to help with that. Captains don't have to be the team's leading scorer, and LA has a long history of selecting workhorses over skilled players, as evidenced by captains like Mattias Norstrom and Dustin Brown. I will be very surprised if anyone but Bjornfot is the next captain of the Kings.

So Vrana plays on an offensive juggernaut and Iafallo plays on one of the worst 5v5 teams in the league, and you want to quote xGF% as "evidence" that Vrana is a better defensive player than Iafallo? How much PK time does Vrana get? What was cited as the reason why Vrana was a recent healthy scratch: "His play without the puck." In the meantime, Iafallo is 2nd among team forwards in SH TOI, behind only Anze Kopitar, one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL. You can cherry pick fancy stats all you want, but Iafallo is lauded by his coaches daily as the hardest working player on the ice, with and without the puck, while Vrana was just a healthy scratch.

I'm not saying Vrana is a bad player. I'm not even saying Iafallo is better than he is. I am saying that LA isn't about to give up 3 quality pieces for a player that has been a healthy scratch multiple times in his career.

Highly doubt Bjornfot will be in any trade, maybe a trade for a player like dahlin but even then I’d be hesitant to trade him.

Yeah Nylander and Hyman would be off the table. Too much to take away from the current roster. If you want a 1st, I'd probably do Amirov + 1st + Kerfoot.

YOu ever think that the capitals are an offensive juggernaut bc of players like Vrana.? makes sense. he was one of the main catalyst of them winning the cup. Vrana is a fast goal scoring threat im betting that 10/10 GMs would take him for a guy like Iafallo +. Iafallo has very average to good offensive numbers and you can blame the team but explain how kopitar is killing it right now? excuses are weak.... 3 quality pieces for a player that is 33rd in p/60. oh well to each their own

Capitals would need something better imo. Capitals need more of a guarantee if they move him.

Hard to say but ill try to explain the best way i can. Kerfoot is good but we have Eller who is basically the same or slightly worse so there is no need for him. Amirov imo could be really good but hes also a question mark..i would prefer a more established player like Robertson. so like i would want 1st high end prospect and a roster player. Maybe Roberson/Amirov 2nd/late 1st and Mikheyev. somehting like that but if im Washington im shooting for an overpayment.

Because Kopitar is and has always been one of the best players in the league. Iafallo is a supporting player who is very good at all aspects of the game, but exceptional in none. He's a quality middle-six player on most teams, but his defensive play and work ethic are top notch and makes him the ideal winger for Kopitar. By the way, Iafallo has been credited for much of Kopitar and Brown's resurgence by his coaches.

The Kings are a hard working team. Players with lackluster work ethics aren't welcome here. You're welcome to keep Vrana and trade him to a team that will value his type of play. LA isn't it.

To be fair, Vrana gets 67.4% offensive zone starts (i.e. he's getting sheltered deployments). Iafallo is getting 46.2% offensive zone starts. That'll affect xGF%.

Yeah, but the context is that he has good xGF% likely because he gets sheltered zone starts. I don't think Vrana is bad defensively, but it's certainly not a focus of his effort on ice.
