Nothing in that LA trade that makes the Kings give up on him. He's looked real good for them this season and is a RFA this summer.

An argument can be made that Las Vegas might pay a 2022 fifth for Marleau and a 2021 seventh, but I cannot imagine LV giving up Nosek for Marleau and a 2021 seventh, let alone the exchange shown here.

Athanasiou is working out fine for us. We'll keep him.

P.S. All this is ignoring the likelihood that LA and LV would reject almost any trade offer from SJ that didn't favor them.

Interesting idea, but Ottawa doesn't need a 7th D next year, and if they add someone to be a regular, it should be someone who can play top 4 defensive minutes, which I wouldn't trust Holden with.
