Truth of the matter is Koskinen is probably a decent goalie for 2.5 million. He was stupid overplayed when Smith was injured but otherwise has been an adequate NHL back up.

But you're trying to compete this year. Stalock is not an NHL goaltender. Smith is playing well but played badly this year and is 39 or 40. I think you need a better backup otherwise your gambling too much. The teams to good to be undone because Smith shows his age and craps out in the playoffs.

Offer a little more and ask for Ullmark back too

Out of principle, Edmonton should't be trading for Hall unless the most they are giving up to get him is Adam Larsson :/

Larsson being moved at the TDL wouldn't even be considered. One of the better defensive defensemen in the league. Much more important than Hall in the playoffs

That trade punches 3 tickets for the Sabres, 1st, GK, RW.
Drop the retention on Koskinen and make it a 2nd or 2 3rds would be fair IMO.
Buffalo will have cap space next year.
Koskinen could be a good upgrade at GK.
Chiasson could be the 3rd line RW
The picks are always nice for a team trying to upgrade.
