That is a generous offer for Kulikov
Devils would likely accept

(Also, I'd pair him with McAvoy. His style really allows d-partner to play 200 ft game. He has been key to Subban's reemergence this year).

Boston is not trading Debrusk for Hall, it’s dumb. Debrusk’s career for a month of guy who has stunk all year.

That’s to much for DK.

And then you end up with nothing when Hall is gone. If he's traded, DeBrusk would/should only be moved for a player with term. Kulikov isn't worth 2 2nds. Savard is a 2nd pair RD, not LD. Lauzon can't play on the 1st pair.

Two 2nd round picks for a guy they could've signed for free is wild also they could just use that package to acquire a long term D asset roughly like these guys:

Matt Roy
Radim Simek
Justin Holl
Dylan Demelo
Marcus Pettersson

Some of those guys may require less even 😐

Devon Toews just went for two 2nd rounders lol

I would be surprised if they do. Boston is not doing this, but if Buffalo can get better than an established FW under team control that has averaged 23g per 82 games and .566 ppg in his career for a month of a guy who has stunk all year, more power to them. Debrusk has more value than any 1st round pick outside of the top dozen this year. Terribly weak draft.

We've got several RWs already, so that Savard package isn't particularly appealing - not unless we immediately flip Senyshyn and that's probably not going to get us much.

Didn't really realize he had re-emerged this year. I know Boston has had trouble with New Jersey this year but the eyeball test for me watching those games was that Subban while still being a decent player was still overpaid and overrated. -11 as well although I understand that might be skewed based on the fact that he is playing on a team that is below average but there are other defensemen on the team that are plusses.

Subban has been better all around. There are still mistakes, turnovers, etc...but that has always been his style. Shoot a lot, even the occasional back-hand from the point, often try for the home-run pass, etc. Kulikov has been his partner most of the year on 2nd pair. And has been steady eddy.

Every year it seems there are depth defensive d-man who go for 2nd rounders (Greene, Dillon, Scandella last year). I think that would be it for Kulikov. Straight player-for-2nd swap.

Take it if you can get it. Would rather it not come from Boston.

So Debrusk is a 23 goal scorer and Hall has stunk all year. I guess if you really try hard enough to bend the truth you can see it that way

Hall has stunk all year. Anyone acquiring him is only getting him for a month. How he is playing now matters to his trade value.

Debrusk is a long term asset. Anyone acquiring him is acquiring his long term potential. He has averaged 23g per 82 games for his career. He had 27 in 68 games 2 years ago. 22 in 86 since while slumping. If you want to determine his long term value off of a15 game cold streak, feel free. If that is what you think he will be from here on out, value him that way. That is what couch potato GMs do. Real GMs won’t. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Real GM's will want to acquire a player three years removed from winning the Hart for a player who has half the number of points (19 v 7).
Kyle Okposo has more pts than DeBrusk (10 v 7), let's trade them one for one with Buffalo retaining half of Kyle's salary.
Kyle has KP with no PP time, Jake does not KP and gets 1:23 PP min/gm.
No I do not think you like Kyle for Jake one for one either, nor does Buffalo like Taylor for Jake one for one.

Nah, 3 years ago is a long time. It’s irrelevant to what he’s worth for the next month. That’s fan thinking. No GM looking for help for the playoff push says “let’s see who was good 3 years ago and get them”

Years of Debrusk and a pick for a month of an underperforming Hall is a solid return.

But does not matter. Boston is not doing it. They are not moving Debrusk for a rental unless they have given up on him. Which they haven’t. And even if they did, i’d imagine it would be for rental who is playing well.
