There was a report a few days ago that they’d only be interested if he would immediately sign an extension

really? with Kaprizov and Fiala needing new deals I don't know why theyd be interested in signing Palmieri.

I think the Wild will have to sign another winger next year, but I think it would be more for a guy like Gusev rather than Palmieri for cap reasons. I’m thinking middle 6 over top 6 role.

Believe it was NRD I was surprised too but I guess if they think he’ll sign at a lower cap hit than everyone expects it’s possible

Don’t the wild have enough wingers as it is? I would assume boldy makes the team next year as well

Palmieri is on the Ladd trajectory. Anything more than 3.5 x 2-3 years is an overpay

They do, but I don’t think they are penciling him in as a top 6 guy yet. The other thing is that I believe there is going to be quite a bit of turnover on the roster this off-season.

Interesting, feel like there could be a fit there and with two first rounders, the Wild are in good position to be making moves

I’m pretty sold Dumba is moving (shocker) and Greenway and Soucy to a certain extent. Greenway is likely going to Seattle unless Dumba happens before the expansion draft, which makes him a prime candidate to move before hand.

I’ve been following Greenways numbers and the counting stats are being driven by luck and Foligno/Ek are the drivers of the line. I think he’s gonna work his way into an arb award that is more than MIN can afford to pay a middle 6 guy.

I would love to see a greenway/dumba package for Dvorak/garland or something like it.

Dumba has been incredible this season, hopefully guerin get a solid return - or maybe Suter waived his NMC so dumba can be protected? It’s not like Seattle will want Suter.

You’re right on greenway. JEE looks like a legitimate 1C this year. Cirelli 2.0.

I need to look more into Garland’s stats but I can’t figure out what ARI wants to do. I’m also 99.99% sure they do not want to move Dvorak unless they go full rebuild, in which case Dumba isn’t in the picture.

If I was looking at ARI, I would build something around Greenway/Menell and Garland/Hayton. I know they’re probably resistant to moving either guy for a package that also doesn’t include decent futures. So IDK.

Garland looks pretty skilled this year. I’d think he’d be a great compliment for fiala or kk. Add boldy and it could be a solid top 6 wing for the foreseeable future.

I think Dumba gets protected without question. He’s got way more value than Greenway in a trade or on the ice.

I also maintain my take that JEE is a fringe top 6 guy, but his new instinct to get to the net and bang away is being rewarded. He’s fantastic and a crucial part of the team but he still needs a playmaker to put up that offense.

I like the fit. Can’t argue that, but I wonder what his arb case looks like cause he’s got two 50 pt pace seasons under his belt. Here’s a situation why Zuccarello’s deal is really hamstringing what can be done.

JEE play driving impact is elite and it looks like he’s figuring it out offensively. At the very least he’s a high end 2C.

I don’t think he hasn’t earned the right to be in that conversation, but I don’t think he’s there. Yet. One thing I’ve been impressed with this year is his ability to adapt to his line mates and play in synergy with them. I think he’s most effective on a possession line (I think it’s about time we start calling it that to adequately describe what the JEE/Greenway/Foligno line does) but he’s getting himself into positions to score when he plays with Fiala and KK.

Whether he’s a checking line C, a top 6 C, a 1C, or the best C on the Wild, he’s a critical part of the way this team will win.

Ek to me is Koivu 2.0: a guy who should be in the Selke conversation, can be relied on for tough matchups but prolly shouldn't be your 1C. I really hope Rossi can develop into that 1C so Ek gets help sooner than Koivu did and maybe we can win something with them.

I’m pretty confident we’re getting a creator in Rossi. And with Beckman and Boldy coming, there is a lot to be excited about.

Jack McBain is the guy I'd like for Devils.
We need some big bodies with good hands that can play in front of the net.
We are plenty of smaller, skilled, or perimeter forwards.
But if Palmieiri somehow ends up in Minnesota, McBain is one I'd like to see in the return (Boldy too, but not holding my breathe).
