If you look passed their top line, Sharks have virtually no depth in their forward group whatsoever.

Hagelin is a seasoned playoff vet who could help the sharks reach the playoffs this season and is on a somewhat decent contract.

If his contract ever becomes an issue, the Sharks can always buy him out.

Also, the Sharks move up 20 spots in the draft, give or take.

No they don’t. Not without a substantial increase in the asset being returned. Hagelin has two more years left and isn’t any different than a guy like Nieto making league minimum.

As far as depth, give me either of Leonard or Donato jumping up in the lineup over Hagelin. Hagelin is a 4th liner on this version of the Sharks, but being paid like a middle 6 forward for 2 more seasons. Unless the pick coming back is upgraded to maybe a 2nd rounder, Sharks say no with relative ease. Bailing out a team in cap hell for basically nothing isn’t how this works.

That's probably close to reasonable for Nash, although the combination of deferred pick and retention does not sit well.

Huh. That guy just tried to pull a "no, really, your team would do that, you non-traditional hockey market fans just wouldn't UNDERSTAND" stunt with a Jackets proposal in another AGM, too.

This is a possible cup winning roster. AS LONG AS GOALIES STAND TALL. Which, no offense, none of these goalies are Braden Holtby in the yoffs. Holtby, like Corey Crawford gets a lot of goalie hate for being that 5th/6th best goalies that year compared to the Vezina candidates. Caps are a force but the only question their roster truly faces in playoff hockey is in net. Which is a compliment to their team.

Good ole Sens fan bashing the Sharks forward depth like they didn’t waive a 23 year old playing and thriving in our Top 6 so they could keep expiring contract stars like Artem Anisimov and Galchenyuk to finish in last place again this year. Haha. Gotta love it.
