That is a horrible islander trade. Giving up a 3rd plus taking on Ladd. We will get a first just for hall.

    Seattle will take borgen

Both of these trades are terrible for Buffalo. Ladd is a dead weight contract no one wants. Graves is about to be the player Seattle takes from Colorado, and yet somehow he is worth the only forward not named Jack Eichel worth protecting on this team? Not to mention depth among defenders is the only thing the Sabres have as an organization. Graves is good, but nowhere near as important as Sam Reinhart is to this team.

Borgen has missed most of the year and has shown nothing, I highly doubt they will take him

None of these moves make the team better. Good luck convincing Dougie Hamilton to come to Buffalo.

Ehhh everyone in buffalo media, and a large amount of fans, flaked about how well borgen played, and was questioning why ralph didnt have him playing sooner. Botts is in Seattle, borgen will be the pick.

Botts didnt draft Borgen, GMTM did, Botts buried Borgen and had no faith to call him up. I was about to specifically point out Botts as a reason they dont take him. Botts also traded for Miller (pushing Borgen further down the depth chart). Plus the Sabres could protect him if they were worried about it, McCabe is UFA and had a season ending injury, theirs a small chance Seattle would take him too, protect Borgen over him and roll the dice. That would also expose Mittelstadt, who Botts would be more interested in

Obviously. However, being the GM here, he watched him progress. Last year he didnt get called up, because we had too many defensemen here. Hence why Pilut left.

By insulting a generational young D with with that RFA contract offer? By throwing tons of long term money at aging free agents? Hoffman would be 32/33 here.

Okposo signed his current contract at 28 like Hyman here but he hit 60 pts a year without elite linemates and Zach barely hits 40 points a season with them

    Like jeez people

    😐

Y'all are like Tobias in Arrested Development when he's like "everyone deludes themselves into thinking it'll work for them... but it *might* work for us"

Andersen Rantta will both be 33 here also

Why trade RFA Reinhart for UFA Graves

Trying to be positive is tough here

    *sighs*

Rasmus Dahlin gets a similar bridge deal to:

    Vladislav Gavrikov
    Nikita Zadorov
    Brandon Carlo
    Ryan Graves
    Erik Cernak

My final commentary on the Dahlin malarkey:

    In the words of Bender

"Add a 1 and some zeros on the end of that and you got yourself a deal!!" 🤖

You have lost your mind, Borgen was our best defensemen when he was here until he broke his arm being hit blocking a shot. He will be protected.

He played 4 games, thats hardly enough data points, but i also said they could protect him if they wanted
