PHI will say no. If they are selling off expiring contracts, they'll want either picks/prospects/both, not another contract with term.

Kerfoot is a better player...

I am not going to comment on the trade, but just noticing that, in this scenario, all of the Leaf's centers would be left-handed. I know, that may sound minor, but it is probably beneficial to have at least one right-handed center. Maybe Spezza plays center or takes the draws before sliding back to the wing. It may be something that Dubas considers. Personally, I think they will look at scoring wingers first, but that's just me.

Flyers don't need another centre. Or really even a winger. We also certainly don't need to take on more long term cap that doesn't involve adding a top pair D.

Laughton will be moved for picks, not cap dumps in positions we're already deep in.

Doesn't really make sense for the Leafs to trade the productive Kerfoot, then wait five games for Laughton and then hope he fits in and plays as well as Kerfoot.
Would like getting Laughton but for prospect/picks only.
