From the looks of it everyone hates this deal. Quite understandable in my opinion and I can see where you guys are coming from giving up a first for Dustin Brown to play bottom 6 minutes. He necessarily doesn't have to play bottom 6 but that's where I slotted him in. However, in order to add in veteran presence, someone with playoff experience, a leader, someone with grit, someone who can put up a lot of points, someone who can solidify our bottom 6, it is a no brainer. I think of it like the MSL deal in 2014. Though it isn't an insane package like that was, he has all the qualities that MSL had including some heart to his game. I get that what the rangers are giving up here is way too high of a price to pay so if you want to give me feedback on what you would give up, great! I've always like DB and could be an add that gets the rangers over the top in the future. It was just an idea nothing to be taken too serious but when you think that 2021 draft class is weak and our pick is likely going to be between 13-15, I like it. Also to add in, I'm sure there will be a bevy of teams calling in to acquire DB and the asking price I am sure will be high.

The Rangers haven't made the playoffs in 3 years. The 2014 team was in their window. This 2021 team is not.

Honestly a 3 a rental. Is this a contract year thing? He's been pretty bad last couple.

I wouldn't say hes been horrible. He's been playing on a bottom feeding kings team. I think he has redeemed himself with his play this year. If I posted a third and a rental, Kings fans would be crying and saying you aren't getting that for brown. As my proposal shows, he would be a UFA at the end of the year. In all likelihood if I were to fix my proposal I would do a 2nd straight up.

ok troll do some research... all of the players listed above are exempt. Rangers only have to protect Trouba, Lindgren, and an extra d being Hajek.

Brown isn't worth that, no player on the 4th line is, and with the youth nyr have on the right side, that's where brown would play
