Need to add for Palmieri. Too much for Hanifin but CGY is probably not trading him anyways.

How far off you think the Palmeri trade is? He's only a rental and he's not having an amazing year, that said I do see the value in him being a Bruin though and hopefully he'd perk up a bit with a better line.

Hanafin is a bit of an over pay but that is because it's going to take an overpay to get wrestle him away from Calgary.

I don't see Flames trading Hanifin unless there is a LD coming back in this deal or another one. After Giordano, our LD depth would be Valimaki(not top 4 ready) Kylington and Nesterov(both not top 4 compatible)

At least two 2nds, one late for Palmieri. We'll see.
Hanifin is a good top4 D but you're going to lose him to Seattle in July. You will get him for the next couple months but no Hanifin, DeBrusk, Lauzon, Studnicka, Vaakanainen, 2nd after the draft, that's not good.

This is why I think it's better to trade for a rental defenseman.

You would obviously protect Hanafin and work a deal out with Carlo that he doesn't sign until after the expansion draft.

I'd throw in another prospect like Steen or Blidh as a kicker if that's what's need to get Palmeri done.

They’d protect Mac, Carlo, and Noah. Carlo’s contract situation is irrelevant as he is an RFA not a UFA, does not matter when they sign him.

I think the neighborhood is more Bjork and 2nd. 2nd mid-level prospect. 2nd and 3rd over 2 years.

You can forget about Beecher, Lauko, Lohrei, Studnicka, Debrusk.

And Swayman

There are four options left after taking yours out (and Swayman out)

Bjork + lesser prospect + 3rd
Vaak + Bjork
Berglund + 2nd
Vaak + 2nd

One of those types of deals wouldn't leave me disappointed or underwhelmed at all.
