Lower Bennetts contract to like 1.5 mill and it will be better. He isn't worth 2.5 why give him more?

Umm what? Why would we even trade Kulak for Zub straight up?

Don't see the Oiler trading Bouchard unless they get a stud winger back.

Montreal does it to save almost 1M in cap space...

Also, they have too-many LD with Romanov, Mete and Kulak essentially all playing the same position.

I think they should acquire a defensively responsible RD to pair with Romanov.... but those are very rare on the market especially at or around the 1M mark.

Zub seems like he could be the perfect fit. The problem for the Habs is Ottawa has no reason to trade him and will have the upper hand in negotiations.

Ottawa will likely want Poehling... or at the very very least a 2nd round pick.

Here is a AGM I did where Mtl uses the space created by this trade to get Gaudreau.

Mete, Romanov, & Edmundson can all play RD.

Also, what do you mean we need a defensively responsible player to play with Romanov? He is a defensively responsible player.

And if you’re saying Ottawa doesn’t want to move him, why the hell would the habs try to trade for him? Kulak with Petry is a better option than putting anyone else there.

Also that Gaudreau trade is terrible for the habs. They aren’t trading Caufield under any circumstances.

Neal and Chiasson make the Edmonton trade complicated. It would take a first to get someone bite on eating Neal’s contract. Realistically you’d probably have to pay for someone to take on Chiasson’s 2m this year as well. So despite the fact that Bouchard seems promising and was a 1st round pick a couple years ago, I don’t think this is balanced with Ottawa sending Tierney and Dzingel. I almost think the cap dump would need to be a separate trade

Calgary trade on the other hand seems very slanted towards Ottawa. Not sure if there’s much incentive to do the Edmonton or Montreal trades.

yeah that zub trade doesnt make sense from the sens side either; were shallow at RD and hes been fantastic this year. wouldnt really need to trade him for kulak and a second round pick as were deep at LD and already have a couple second-round picks this year

Wait so Montreal has to pay you Poehling or a 2nd for you to get a better defenseman only because he's making 1M$ more? If that's the case I'll take Connor brown and your 2nd rounder in exchange for Lehkonen cause you know, you're saving money..
