As a CHI fan, I would. Kerfoot is better player than most realize. We have the cap space. But the other trades...woaf! Imagine 7 years retaining!!!

Kerfoot might be an okay third liner, but he's paid too much and we are giving up a good 4th liner and a 5th. It doesn't seem like a good move to me.

Yea we would be fleecing the Ducks with that. Calgary deal is pointless for the Leafs. We could get better singular assets without dealing Amirov. Mangiapane is overrated, Bennet kinda sucks. Bogosian IMO has solidified himself as the 3RHD. Getting another left shot D wouldn't hurt, someone who can play second pair if need be. CHI deal is good tho. Thorton won't be on the taxi squad he has a NMC he can decline to be put on waivers.

CHI is good deal. Gibson would be nice. Mangiapane for that price is pointless, kind of a moot point for both sides because Calgary wouldn't want to deal Valimaki and Mangiapane unless the deals are adequate, but the Leafs wouldn't deal Amirov for those two.

Realize that you could also flip Kerfoot in the offseason or next deadline if need be. I personally think he would be a good fit on CHI. Speedy, plays big and physical for his small size. Good penalty killer too, and a smart player. If we was paid 2mil or less he would be worth so much more. He is just in that "over paid" bracket during a time when salary cap is tight.
