This definitely doesn't make the wild a contender. They'll get rolled in the playoffs. They are doing as well as they are because the west is really weak. Two great teams, Minnesota and a bunch of bad teams.

They could do a condition where if they make the 2nd round or farther then it's a 2022 but if not then it's a 2021.

Nuge will probably resign despite the recent negotiation troubles, and oilers aren't in a position were we would trade a good player.

I don't think Edmonton trades Nuge. If they resign him or not i think is debatable at this point though. Somebody would overpay nuge because he's a center but edmonton won't. They keep him for the playoffs at the very least.
