Ya, i think if Debrusk and Dunn are still on their respective teams after the expansion draft there is potential for a trade to be made there.

i wouldn't be surprised. Army doesn't like losing assets for nothing. If a first + a good prospect is on the table, I say we take it.

If you do end up selling Schwartz, Isles would be all over this.

I'd also love Sanford, not as much Hoffman.

I don't think Montreal does the Hoffman trade but if you wanted to send us Dunn for Lehkonen and a 2nd I am sure they would go for that.

For Schwartz, make it Bode Wilde and a 1st. Blues need defense prospects on the right side especially with Parayko's contract up next year.

They're working on his extension. He's not being lost for nothing.

Hoffman seems like the finisher that Montreal needs, Although I think he would hurt us at 5v5

Montreal's tied for 7th place league wide for goals for but we're missing a finisher? What?

We'd be Dunn-b to not make this trade.

Our GF is lower than our xGF, so yes, we do have a finishing problem.

We have a finisher he is just in the AHL right now. Also I think you forget that Toffoli is 4th OVA in the League, also only Ovechkin has more 5 vs 5 goals than Gallagher since 2018-19. Forget that Anderson is on pace for 25 goals.

It's great, but we need more than 1 player who can finish his chances.

WOW I named 4 without including Tatar, Suzuki, Staal, Drouin, Kotkaniemi or Perry all guys capable of putting up 20+ goals over a full season. BTW we are 7th in the league in goals for that literally means we are out scoring 22 other teams! But yeah we can't score goals.

Did you edit that comment or did I stop reading like an idiot? I could've sworn it originally just mentioned Toffoli.

We are winning games because we have one of the best 5v5 teams in the league, but if our players could finish like they are suppose to, we wouldn't be 4th in the division right now.

Actually it wouldn't have mattered cause the games we lost so far were because of lack of effort not lack of scoring. We pretty much bailed on our goalies and didn't even look disinterested in scoring through most of those losses.

EDIT** No I did not edit the comment LOL if I do I normally start it like this line was.

Where is the actual fact that having Hoffman equates to more wins? Oh right there is none cause it is just an opinion as well.

Everything I'm saying to you, there's facts behind it. Hoffman is one of the best players in the league when it comes to scoring on the shots he takes above what is expected. There's literally no opinion behind it.

I'd recommend subbing to JFresh's Patreon and taking a look. It's the simplest way to translate advanced analytics.

Yes there is, how do you know if he came to Montreal that he would gel and create chemistry with those around him? He could end up working out exactly what Staal did in Buffalo. It is your opinion that having Hoffman would improve our chances of winning more games, just like it is my opinion that having Hoffman would mean we would be scored on more at 5 vs 5 thus negating any positives we get from him.

It is my opinion that he would improve because there's a long history of him being able to finish his shots. (On Ottawa and Florida too). It's not solely based on my opinion. there's a sound argument here with facts to back it up.

I understand your logic, but it's pretty flawed, it's like saying we should be trading for every 4th line in the league because of what Carter Verhaeghe has done this year on Florida.

How am I saying anything like that? I said we need a D man like Dunn more than another winger cause scoring is not our issue! where do you get we need defensive forwards from that? You really need to read through the responses a bit better. I don't care about Verhaeghe or what Florida has done, our best chance of advancing through the playoffs is by shoring up our one major hole and that is a #1 LHD like Dunn, Butcher and Edler among others. We don't need a one dimensional winger when we are already overloaded with great 2 way wingers, we don't need anymore centers when we are overloaded with them too. We don't need anymore 3-7 defensive D men we have like 200 of them right now. We absolutely NEED a #1 PM LHD to drive play up ice and create scoring from the back end.

The problem here is we are arguing with each other by mistake, I disagreed with ColonelX, not you. He quoted us in the same response, so when I quoted you, it was suppose to be for him. I like Dunn and think it would be a great addition
