Help me out guys I know this is an overypay. I don't think this is what it would take to get him. Ozzy+Gregor+a 2nd? Or just the first?

Reinhart would be the perfect add IMO.

Gambrell and two seconds should to it
Dont think SJS should trade Ozzy right now

Good target but its alot. I would also rather deal Merks than Ozzy I think. Im not convinced Merkley will work in SJ

If the Sharks end up keeping Burns post-SEA-draft, I'd be a lot more inclined to trade Merks instead of Ozzy. But I have the feeling Burns will go to SEA and SJ's been marinating Merks with the Cuda to prep him for next season to pick up some of Burns' absence. He's progressing well too in the AHL as the season's worn on.

I'll update to have something similar to this reflected (Ozzy + Gregor) instead of including the 1st in there too.

Reinhart is a pending RFA who is likely looking to get out of Buffalo. That means he is going to be hard for Buffalo to sign. I doubt acquiring him costs a 1st or any blue chip prospects.

Agree. I think his attitude issues persist and he really doesn't go anywhere

I dont care about the attitude, I just dont think hes got the effort to ever get a chance on a team like SJ. Hes a lazy but talented RHD that the sharks just have no room for.

it isn't his attitude, its that your average 16 year old plays better defense than him.

absolutely no chance Hertl is traded for Reinhart, I would consider Labanc + 2nd though.

Labanc + 2nd would be the highest I see SJ going, literally nothing more, especially additional prospects. In that case, no to Reinhart to SJ.

2021 1st (if pick is below top-10) and Blichfeld.

We just rebuilt the chemistry in the locker room, and the top-line is set, so nobody's trading Labanc. Burns is a big part of our chemistry too, so I expect him to stay in SJ post expansion.

If it's Merkley instead of Blichfeld, then I'd expect a 2021 2nd coming back (which I'd use to select Sebastian Cossa), although that might cost us an extra 4th or something... at this point we're in the weeds, but you get it.

I think SJS has to admit. Most likely going in the SEA draft is simek.

I'm hoping they protect ek65 vlasic and simek on D, that way Burns is exposed. I like Burns obviously and prefer him over Simek, it's just the scenario of the Sharks having so many big contracts and 30+ players and one of them needing to go and burns I think makes the most sense to go with his age and bc we have EK65 at least and Merkley waiting.

It's a question of will SEA take Burns and/or will SEA take Burns with a sweetener that isn't a 1st rounder or 1st round pick of ours.

Burns is core, Simek isn't... that's why I think Simek gets exposed, doesn't mean he gets selected though. Burns is also a lot harder to replace than Simek, even with his age; he's still very effective offensively and is even evolving his defensive game, which has certainly improved.

Merkley had many attitude issues in the O, which actually caused Guelph to basically tell him to get lost.

Not talking about skill. He has the skill, it's his attitude

As much as this was being touted and maybe rightfully so last season, this season's been a different story. 0 goals in his last 21 games and so many defensive lapses which have directly led to opposing goals. Hedi's called him out on it a few of the times.

0 goals but plenty of assists. I mean, we still love Cooch, but he's in a drought right now too.

Harsh reality is once Pavs left Burns had no one to tip his shots in. Our whole team is built upon the garbage goal, bomb-the-net approach, but we still don't have that solid net-front guy. We either gotta get a new guy or change our game completely. Leno has been practicing tip-ins, so has Gambrell and Donato -- I also hear Reedy was one of the best tippers in the NCAA -- but none of them come close to what Pavs could do... Not yet anyway.
