It's probably not the best package that's being offered.

But if it is, why wouldn't Buffalo take it? Looks much worse getting nothing for an expiring contract (especially when there is 0% chance of making the playoffs) than getting under market value.

NRD is a parrot account - tweeting the obvious connections from other sources for quite a while now.

That is how you become a beta team. You have to make other teams pay for good help in their playoff pushes. Teams can't just become a charity and give away helpful talent for nothing

Because they have zero use for Engvall next season. Plus that 4th doesn’t move the needle.

Sabres don't have any negotiation power. Teams will run all over them

I dunno man, may have to agree to disagree on this one. Not sure Buffalo has any leg to stand on, considering Hall does not have the numbers this season to warrant a hefty return for him. Plus he has a large cap hit.

If this really is the only offer (which it isn't, there is most likely a better offer on the table), and Buffalo doesn't take it to not become a "beta team" or "charity", then their pride is getting in the way of getting assets for an expiring contract. In my opinion, you look worse if you don't take a deal and lose the player for free because your pride is in the way rather than not getting market value for said player.

?? I don’t understand why you think that. Hall while not having a good year on the score sheet is still easily a good 1st line LW, they will get a nice return.

Yeah, agreed. Unfortunately, im not sure real world business sense always works in sports. Its more like a big game of poker. Having a huckleberry gm is nowhere to be. Sometimes youve gotta say- "deal wasnt there for us". Otherwise you get botterilled.

If it was then Buf would, but it can't be. There are other teams that would be willing to pay way more than this especially with retention. Islanders should go hard after him

unless Dubas gets a 3rd team to eat some cap cant see it happening.

In general I think with the way chucky has played and with the current situation on Freddies health got to think Dubas is gonna trade for a goalie

A couple of things. Yea, the Sabres would get better offers than the one proposed. But Hall has NMC. Maybe Hall is saying...I only want to be traded to Tampa, Leafs or Washington, and those two teams aren't biting at all. What choice do the Sabres have?

Thats a very tired narrative. If 8 teams want Hall the demand is driving the price alot higher than god damn engvall lmfao

Gee, I don't what folks don't like Engvall. Fourth line minutes and he would be tied for 6th goal scoring if he was Sabre.
Engvall is a competent NHLer. Any knowledgable fan knows Bracco was never an NHLer

It's a comparison...yes they are different players but neither are all that valuable. Someone is definitely paying more for Hall than this.

Oh, I. said the Sabres will get better offers. I wonder....does NMC Hall...nix a trade with the team with a superior offer?
