Trades
1.
NSH
  1. 2021 1st round pick (TOR)
TOR
  1. Granlund, Mikael
Additional Details:
I know Granlund isn't worth a 1st but Toronto strikes me as a team that would overpay
2.
NSH
  1. Kotkaniemi, Jesperi
  2. 2021 1st round pick (MTL)
MTL
  1. Ekholm, Mattias
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Montreal could use another D to round out the top 4 and already have. KK has potential and can already play in the big leagues. Pick swap thrown in to even trade value
3.
NSH
  1. 2021 4th round pick (MIN)
MIN
  1. Richardson, Brad
Additional Details:
Minnesota has been struggling in the faceoff circle this year and Richardson will help shore up the unit and can be deployed and trusted as a faceoff and PK ace.

Montreal rejects, Kotkaniemi has more value than Ekbolm and would unavailable in any trade.

Kotkaniemi is going to be a non-starter for them. Their future is hinged on him and Suzuki as the 1-2 punch down the middle, they'd rather drop the 3rd and add a different piece in Kotkaniemi's place.

I mean, if that's what they get then sure!

But I think they end up keeping their bigger pieces and sell off a few of the smaller names if they do anything -- Haula, Cousins, Borowiecki, Sbisa, Richardson.

You're thinking they overpay because of what they paid their stars. Dubas got a first for Kapenen and a prospect they still have and a guy they didn't resign making him unimportant. Dubas isn't going to overpay in a buyers market with a team that's one of the top in the league. Dubas knows what he's got and knows what they are worth.

Also, Dubas didn't renegotiate Matthews, Marner and Nylander, that was Shanahan. Dubas negotiated for JT and say what you want, but he signed him for lower than others offered him.

I think the 6th should be headed the other way.

Especially if we are retaining. Thats the key. Granlund is easily worth a 2nd alone. Add a later round pick if we retain. Otherwise we just hold him honestly. He's 4th in goal scoring on the team.
