Leafs do. Also Doughty and his NMC. California is his home. Maybe at the TDL in his last year of his contract to a contender he'll waive, but not now.

Leafs. Marner is younger and Doughty could regress.

Yeah, the Leafs finally have a solid D-core and all the guys want to be there. They are going to flip that on it's head for a guy who may or may not want to be there. Doughty isn't going to be doughty for every year of that contract. The Leafs lose a lot of offence in one of the greatest playmakers in the game and a guy who's an important guy in the locker room. On top of that Doughty has a higher AAV. Too many negatives.

I mean, he's Drew friggin Doughty on one hand. On the other, Marner is a key piece of our team, younger, and cost controlled for five more years.

I don't think it makes sense for either team. You'll have Drew Doughty in his (late) prime by the time you're competitive.

Doughty isn't what he used to be.

Doughty is currently 2nd in Norris polling by NHL.com, behind only Victor Hedman (who will and should win by a landslide).

Was gonna call B's but wow. That is terrible. Idk how he should be close to 2nd place. But still he's declining. He's shouldn't be close to 2nd. It's such a bad trade in so many ways

As someone that has watched every minute of every Kings game for a very long time, I can confidently say that Doughty has been exceptional this season. Easily his best year since 2017-18, if not since 2015-16 when he actually won the Norris. Fully admit that he wasn't great for the past two seasons, but someone lit a fire under his behind when it was suggested that he might not make the Olympic team. He has earned every dollar of his contract this year.

As someone who watched every minuite of the leafs this year. This is still a horrible trade even if you take the contracts out of it. With it in its horrendous

I agree it would be a terrible trade for the Leafs to make. It's an equally terrible trade for the Kings to make, and I would be furious if they did so.
