The Calgary trade makes NO SENSE for Ottawa. Monahan is UFA at the end of the 22/23 season, the season Ottawa should be making the playoffs, But Ottawa will need to trade him, because they sure as hell won't be looking to sign him to an extension. Meanwhile you've given up THREE 1st round picks you have under your complete control for the next 4 years (and longer).

I dislike both of these a lot.

Monahan trade is bad value, and bad strategic planning.

Tierney is terrible value. Guy is worth a 2nd alone, let alone with retention.
