Friedman is somewhat correct. He said that contract talks were not close which is true. He also said trade is not close which is also true. There are many teams interested in Palmieri but that doesn't mean a trade is close. I think Palms get dealt at the deadline so the Devils will keep him out for the next few games to make sure he doesn't get hurt. So he is correct but the way he worded it sounds bad.

Yeah hes not having a very good year and is definitely overrated if you perceive him as an elite forward, but I think hes still a useful top 6 forward though. Palmieri is also not having an amazing year this year either. I just think the leafs would be better off if they trade a 1sr for Hall to fit on the LW of either Matthews-Nylander or Tavares-Nylander than they would be to trade for Palmieri to play him on his off-wing on the left or third line if they want to keep him on the right the players are probably quite close in overall value though

I mean, that's one play. There are plently where he would actually score.
