Does Anaheim have a protection spot for Fleury in the expansion draft?

They can expose Fowler. I rather have Fleury

The real question is would Carolina pay that much for a guy they clearly don't have a protection spot for?

I dont see why the Canes need more defence.

If Teuvo is gone for the year, they'll search for a top6 replacement

The only thing that’s weary is Seattle. Neither team has the room to protect whoever is going back

I can't see a world where the Ducks get a 1st+ for Manson. I don't even think Seattle would take him.

Carolina's FO isn't afraid of Seattle. Their strategy is to load the defense, protect Slavin, Pesce, and Bean, and let the depth cushion the blow.

Yeah, I can’t see 2 roster players and a 1st for Manson.

A 1st on its own, or Geekie/Fleury + 2nd. That doesn’t work, oh well.

It’s not a need, it’s a want. Canes are going for a Cup and we only have two right shot NHL defenseman. Manson pairing on the 3rd pair with Bean or Gardiner seems perfectly fine with me.

Last time I checked, the Expansion draft is next year. The Canes are going for a cup this year.

Manson is worth a 2nd at best.

yep, in general Anaheim should protect Fowler, Lindholm, and Fleury

expose Shattenkirk and hope Seattle takes him

than they can fully commit to rebuilding next season as they will have the space to take on bad contracts and get picks and prospects out of it

Thanks Oleg - my comment was just giving context not being bitter.

I think it's the ideal swap for both teams. Carolina couldn't care less about Seattle because their defense (and roster overall) is the definition of "all-in". Therefore, why not use some youth that would otherwise be exposed to Seattle to get the perfect missing link on the RH side?
