Vatanen. If he can stay healthy, he's cheaper to acquire and fits the bill as a third-pairing defenseman. Decent on the PK and can chip in offensively a bit.

The Vatanen one. Both Montour and Vatanen are average 3rd pair D, rather give up a 4th than a 2nd. I don't know if you are asking to COL fans or from the Avs' perspective (they may disagree if Montour is a better fit), I just picked the better trade no matter the team.

Yep. Vatanen for a 4th is better value here. Montour fits the Avs style but we need a guy who can PK on the 3rd pair much more.
